Wine Dogs

Over the years in Helvetia, many canines have helped operate the winery.  Our current team includes Georgie, part Lab and part cow, a rescue dog fostered to me by Ronnie Lucero and Kim Singer after he was found chained to an abandoned double-wide.  Georgie is a gentle giant who keeps the coyotes off the front porch and likes to harumph around in the creek and marshy areas.  Coco is the elder of the pack.  She is about 11 years old but still jumps to the challenge of the howls and yips of the coyotes. As a young pup, she couldn’t keep her muzzle shut in the mobile home park where she lived so she was also fostered out to the winery.  Pippin is the brains behind the outfit and the shepherd behind most of our guests who need an escort up the steps to taste the wines.  I have always suspected that Pippin ran afoul of his pantry providers because he was a trashcan tipper though my suspicions could never be confirmed.

The 2014 harvest was the best yet!
